Experienced Social Worker - Front Door Service
Role Responsibility
Here at the Front Door service for Kent County Council Integrated Children’s Services, we receive and respond to all requests for support at an intensive level or above, ensuring that these are passed on to the most appropriate service for ongoing support and intervention.
We are currently recruiting experienced Social Workers to join our service and work in one of our 6 teams, who will be responsible for undertaking this rewarding work which is often complex in its nature, gathering further information and making enquiries as necessary to inform threshold decisions regarding the correct level of support required.

Successful applicants will hold a degree in Social Work – CQSW, DipSW or equivalent and have a variety of post-qualification experience of working within Children’s Services. They will have the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a pressured environment, have excellent communication and literacy skills along with the ability to support case management decisions. They will be working within a duty rota system closely with other team members utilising core social work skills both in assessment and analysis.
This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh Sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the job description/person specification.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and to registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
Salary is dependent on experience and progression through the career grade is based on the fulfilment of required capabilities. Applicants must be able to evidence that they have successfully progressed to the required competency level via a recognised career progression pathway when they submit their application.
