Experienced Social Worker – Front Door Service

Role Responsibility

We are currently seeking to recruit to 2 Full time ESW posts in the Front Door Service  who will  work in one of our busy teams receiving requests for support and new referrals, gathering further information and making enquiries as necessary to determine the correct level of support required for children, young people and their families based on sound analysis and a good understanding of Kent's Support Level Guidance.

Successful applicants will hold a degree in social work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent, be registered with Social Work England and have diverse post qualification practice experience in Children and Families of a magnitude that enables the post holder to have achieved the relevant level of the Competency Framework for KR10. They will need to have the ability to work through complex cases in a calm and efficient manner within a highly pressured environment.  It will be essential therefore to have excellent communication and literacy skills.

Successful applicants will be working within a duty rota system with other team members, utilising core social work skills in assessment and analysis underpinned by the Kent Integrated Children's Services Practice Framework.

This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer facing position.  The Council therefore has a statutory duty under part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh Sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the job description/person specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
