Engagement Officer

Role Responsibility

We are looking for candidates to fill the roles of Engagement Officer for the Financial Hardship Programme, Strategic and Corporate Services – Strategy, Policy, Relationships and Corporate Assurance (ST – SPRCA). The role is to be based at Sessions House in Maidstone, however due to Coronavirus, you will initially be expected to work from home.

For internal applications this would be a Secondment opportunity.

These are newly created, exciting and high-profile roles, supporting the Digital Lead (Inclusion and Capability) to engagement, inspire and motivate residents and businesses to be more socially and digitally inclusive, by delivering high-quality sessions and interventions within the community.

We are looking to recruit six Engagement Officers who will be responsible for contributing the team objectives for their geographical area across the county. The geographic areas are (may be subject to change):

Ashford and Folkestone and Hythe

Canterbury and Swale

Dartford and Gravesham

Dover and Thanet

Maidstone and Tonbridge and Malling

Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells

You will deliver engagement activities and interventions in your allocated geographical area, providing support to other areas when necessary, with the aim to improve social and digital inclusion and capability.

We are recruiting a brand-new team that will engage, inspire and motivate residents and businesses to be more socially and digitally inclusive, by delivering group and one-to-one sessions within the community, building partnerships and networks of organisations that share our vision and purpose, as well as recruit volunteers to join a network.

This post is subject to an Enhance Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This role is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
