Here at Kent County Council, we are understandably proud of what we and our partners are doing to reduce carbon emissions. We have significantly reduced our carbon emissions and are aiming at reducing our emissions further by working towards Net Zero for our own KCC Estate by 2030, and the wider Kent and Medway area by 2050.

We’re looking for someone with an interest in the energy/environment to join the Sustainable Business and Communities team in an exciting opportunity to support us on energy projects development and implementation. The team leads on the implementation of energy projects across the KCC estate and supports work on energy across Kent.

We have a vacancy for an Energy Projects Support Officer to help us deliver key priorities and actions identified in the Kent Environment Strategy, the Energy and Low Emissions Strategy and our Net Zero agenda. In this role, you will provide high level support to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery of new and established energy projects as part of the overall energy programme such as, large scale renewable energy projects and energy efficiency works. There will also be opportunities to be involved in new energy technology deployment and the rapid work around the digitalisation of energy services.

The role will provide you opportunity to engage with a range of internal and external partners, work on a variety of initiatives and co-ordinate key programme activities.

This post would suit someone with some knowledge of energy/environmental issues. The applicant must have confidence in dealing with partners and be capable of communicating matters clearly. You must be computer literate with experience of using spreadsheets and databases.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 3rd Feb 2022. Interviews will be held on Monday 14th Feb 2022 or Tuesday 15th Feb 2022.
