Role Responsibility

Kent Enablement at Home (KEAH) provide domiciliary-based short term enablement services across Kent. We are looking to recruit an Enablement Support Worker to work in a busy role delivering enablement services to people in their own homes.

If you have a passion for working with people, we would love to hear from you. We are offering the opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic and supportive team which promotes professional development.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of dedicated staff who support people to regain their independence. You will visit people in their own homes and work with them to regain their confidence in carrying out a range of daily living task, including washing, dressing, making a meal for themselves and more.

This post is based at Avenue of Remembrance, Swale Local Office for our Canterbury Kent Enablement at Home team and is vital to support as many adults as possible with short term enablement services in the community. The Canterbury team cover Whitstable, Herne Bay and Canterbury

We are looking for motivated and proactive people, who want to make a difference to the community, within a team that work collaboratively with internal and external partners and focuses on promoting a persons independence. You also need to be flexible in your approach and ready to embrace new ways of working to help further shape our services.

Hours include alternate weekends and some evening work and hours will be fixed to a two-week shift pattern. We can offer guaranteed hours to suit your availability, a comprehensive training programme and a rewarding career helping people transform their lives.

You will require excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to adapt to change within a fast paced service and good ICT literacy as the post involves some use of computerised systems. A diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or the willingness to work towards it.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential. You should note that public transport is rarely a viable option as your role will involve travelling to rural areas, often with limited public transport.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
