Enablement Supervisor - Various Locations Across West Kent

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the following Enablement Team.  

Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, West Kent North (Maidstone and Malling), West Kent South (Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells)

The Kent Enablement at Home service is one of the leaders in its field. With excellent work benefits and one of the most comprehensive training programmes we believe in investing in both our staff as well as the residents of Kent.   

Enablement is all about taking an individual on a journey to independence or reducing the long-term care needs. This would be through planned support with aspects of daily living including personal care, whilst working for and alongside a structured team to include the Enablement Locality Organiser, Enablement Support Workers, Business Support Teams, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist and various multi agency partners in KCC and health.   

The role requires you to manage a caseload of people using the service (including enablement/assessment provision) to support the people using our service in establishing SMART Enablement goals and in identifying the correct level of need and the outcomes required, and to enable the people using our service to maintain their independence. 

The Enablement Supervisor is responsible for providing practice monitoring, supervision and training to a team of Enablement Support Workers in the community and monitoring the quality of service provided, as well as ensuring that staff work in a healthy and safe environment. The role will require you to work closely with Occupational Therapy and Case Management colleagues to ensure assessments are holistic and all opportunities are maximised. 

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who has:   

· An empathetic and caring approach  

· Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working with a diverse range of people and challenging situations  

· Skills to empower the people on our service to support them to reach their personal goals and maximise their independence  

· Ability to travel across the required geographical area  

· Ability to be flexible and adapt to the fast-changing business needs  

· Basic knowledge and understanding of computer-based systems  

· Willingness to learn and a proactive approach to their own development

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day (during shift hours) is essential. You should note that public transport is rarely a viable option as some rural areas of Kent often have limited public transport  

The Government is to introduce COVID-19 vaccination as a condition for all frontline health and social care workers in Spring 2022. 

This position has been identified as needing to comply with this. If you are the successful candidate you will need to provide evidence that you have received both first and second dose vaccinations, or are willing to take up the offer of receiving both doses or you can provide evidence of medical exemption.
