Enablement Assessment Officer

Are you able to think innovatively whilst working in challenging situations?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity, in Thanet, as part of our expansion within Intensive Intervention Service Team, with the expectation to deliver the service countywide across Kent if required.

 

About the Role: 

As an Enablement Assessment Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting adults aged 18+ who have higher-level needs, including mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and autism. Working across Kent, with a particular focus on Dover and surrounding areas, you will deliver intensive, personcentred enablement interventions within the community.

Your work will centre on promoting independence, preventing escalation to more intensive services, and empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals.

You may also be required to support individuals currently in-patients at main Kent psychiatric hospitals.

We are seeking someone who is:

- Compassionate and committed to promoting independence.

- Experienced in supporting individuals with mental health needs, autism, and learning disabilities.

- Confident working independently and collaboratively with multi-agency teams.

- Organised, flexible, and proactive with strong assessment skills.

- Able to travel across Kent and adapt to changing priorities.

- Comfortable working at pace within the timescales of the enablement programme.

- A team player who values innovation, collaboration, and continuous development.

Additional Information: 

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.


This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
