Enablement Assessment Officer
Role Responsibility

We have an exciting opportunity for an Enablement Assessment Officer to join the Intensive Intervention Service (KES)
This role combines responsibilities across both community-based and hospital discharge. This role will support individuals aged 18 and above with high level needs, including mental health issues, learning disabilities, and autism.
About the Role
Your role is to empower individuals with mental health diagnoses, learning disabilities, and autism to regain and develop independent living skills, helping them achieve their personal goals. You will work across Kent, with a primary focus on the Thanet, Dover, Deal and Canterbury areas. Delivering intensive and targeted enablement support within community settings. You may also be required to support individuals who are currently in-patients at three psychiatric hospitals, including Jasmine Ward at Darenth Valley Hospital. Although some hospital-based work is involved, the core aim of these enablement interventions is to promote and develop independence, empower individuals to reach their goals, and prevent escalation to higher levels of care.
What We're Looking For:
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Empathetic and person-centred, with a passion for supporting people to live independently.
- Experienced in working with individuals with mental health needs, autism, and learning disabilities.
- Confident in working independently in hospital settings and collaboratively with multi-agency teams.
- Organised, flexible and proactive, with strong assessment and planning skills.
- Able to travel across Kent and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- Confident to work at pace and within timescales of the enablement programme.
- Can work flexibly across hospital and community settings, and who is comfortable supporting across Kent when required.
- Is committed to promoting independence, equality, and person-centred support.
- Eager to contribute positively to a collaborative, innovative, and compassionate team, with a strong focus on both personal and professional growth, as well as supporting the development of the team as a whole.
