Employment Support Officer

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Specialist Employment Service incorporating Kent Supported Employment as an Employment Support Officer

Work base to be agreed with successful candidate.  A mixture of office and home working subject to business needs and demands.  Working in a particular area of Kent and Medway you will be required to travel to meet clients and employers and work flexibly, supporting in other locations if needed.  You will also be required to travel across the county at different times to attend and assist at meetings and events.  

The Specialist Employment Service is a supported employment service committed to supporting and enabling individuals with disabilities and disadvantages to successfully enter and sustain paid employment, apprenticeships and internships.

The post involves providing appropriate pre-work and in-work support and training for people who are disadvantaged from entering employment, working alongside employers.

The role demands excellent communication skills and an ability to empower and motivate others and support them to learn roles within a variety of workplaces.  You will be able to work off your own initiative, as well as being able to work well in a team.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who have a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities and disadvantages.
