The Education Programme is an interim service providing bespoke tuition packages to children and young people in Key Stages 1-4 in a variety of localities throughout Kent. These CYP are without a school place due to exclusions; or will have Special Educational Needs (SEND) and an EHC Plan, who are awaiting a place at a named specialist provision. The vulnerable learners accessing the programme require one to one support in preparation for the identified onward education provision.
Whilst you will be contractually based in Maidstone, at present there is the flexibility to complete aspects of the role as work from home or from a local KCC building.
The post-holder will provide administrative support to the Education Co-ordinators to assist in the smooth running of the service on a day-to-day basis.
To be considered for this role, candidates should be highly organised, have sound knowledge of IT, including analysing data and running reports. Experience of administrative duties relating to finances, including buying and invoicing would be beneficial.
Candidates will possess excellent communication and listening skills and understand the importance of maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. The desire to provide excellent customer service, be self motivated, and able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, as consistently meeting deadlines is essential.
We are seeking candidates who are reliable, empathetic, pro-active, with a ‘can-do’ approach who can effectively manage the pressures within the Education Programme team, rising to the daily challenges of supporting and championing vulnerable learners.
The Education Programme maintains a CPD programme for the whole team.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
