Early Help Support Worker
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Thanet Children’s Centres team as an Early Help Support Worker.
Thanet Children’s Centres offer a friendly one-stop shop for families with children aged 0-8. They are welcoming places which offer activities, health services, training opportunities and parenting support. They offer high quality play and learning environments and ensure stimulating opportunities for children. The Centres are placed at the heart of communities to enable parents to access the help they need and provide the best start in life for their young children.
This post is full-time, 5 days per week (37 hours) and within the role you will work across the Thanet District in our 7 children’s centres, as well as other community settings and outreach locations in Thanet.
The role of the Early Help Support Worker is varied and will involve you working with parents/carers and children, encouraging them to access the exciting range of groups, activities and services provided. The role may include working 1-2-1 with a family in the home, leading a group or helping to run an event. You may also work alongside partner organisations and support community outreach work. You will support the delivery of Early Help services in collaboration with other colleagues, partner agencies, Early Help Unit’s, and the Children’s Social Work Teams.
We are looking for a motivated and organised person to join our Children’s Centre team in Thanet. Team working and an ability to use your own initiative is essential to the role. As you will be working with parents and children you will demonstrate the ability to establish warm, respectful, trusting and supportive relationships with children across all age groups and their families. Please note that occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
You would be expected to plan, deliver and evaluate activities using the EYFS Framework therefore it is a necessity that you have current Early Years experience and be qualified to Level 3 within Early Years or Health and Social Care. You will be responsible for facilitating groups and crèche provisions which will require you to observe, assess and plan for individual children. You will need a good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ICT systems.
