Role Responsibility

KCC Early Help provides support to children and young people aged 0-19 and their families. Children’s Centres are a part of this service.

The Kent Children’s Centres predominantly work with 0-5 year olds. (Although we also provide some services for 5-8 year olds.)

The Children’s Centres offer several services. They are welcoming places with children’s activities, health services, training opportunities and parenting support. Overall, they aim to provide the best start in life for young children.

The Early Help Support Workers run play and learning sessions for 0-5 children with their parents. There are indoor and outdoor, quality play and learning environments.   Like nurseries, they follow the Early Years curriculum. The children are given early education whilst their parents are encouraged to join in and use the ideas to support their children’s development at home.
