Early Help Support Worker - Youth
Here in Kent we’re transforming the way we provide services for children, young people and families. We’re working hard to ensure that our Early Help and Preventative Services promote resilience, not reliance.
To do this, we provide a full range of open access and targeted responses to the needs of children, young people and families.
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity within Ashford for an Early Help Support Worker to join our Youth Team.
Based at Ashford Youth Hub, you will be working with young people from a range of backgrounds, therefore the ability to engage with young people in their own environment is essential – this may be at the Hub or Outreach Youth Groups anywhere in the Ashford area and will be during afternoon/evenings. There are 15 hours available, but this may be anything between a 6 hour or 9 hour contract.
We need someone fun, inspiring and motivating that can encourage young people to bring out the best in themselves, this can happen through any activity whether its sports, games, Duke of Edinburgh, group work, trips, cooking etc!
Comprehensive training opportunities both mandatory and non-mandatory are offered for individual and team development.
Your ability to understand and communicate effectively with young people in the 8-25 age group will be important, and previous experience of working with young people or community groups would be an essential skill as well as a willingness to get beside young people and encourage them.
Your hobbies will also be of equal use whether you are a keen sports player, artist, dancer or musician.
