EHC Placement Officer
Role Responsibility
An opportunity has arisen to join the SEND EHC Placement Team as a Placement Officer and join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service.
In this relatively newly created role and team, you will take responsibility for sourcing the provision of education placements for children and young people across the county who are to be issued with or hold Education Health and Care (EHC) plans. You will identify, consult, and liaise with providers to secure an appropriate education provision providing a comprehensive, co-ordinated, and efficient service to ensure timely and appropriate education provision is available for children and young people thereby contributing to the effective and efficient running of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team.
The role will be hybrid working with your local KCC office being named as your base. The placement team are county wide and are based around the county. The role will include some days in your local office and some days at home (currently 2 days in the office)
This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person.
