Role Responsibility

Kent Scientific Services require a driver to join our professional and proactive team. The role involves the collection and delivery of samples and equipment to and from clients across the South East and Home Counties, including hospitals, local authorities and a wide range of business clients. Good customer service skills, care and attention to detail are important – the samples may be evidence, the equipment heavy or valuable.

The role covers Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, plus a minimum of one weekend day in four (typically a Sunday). A flexible approach to your working hours is required.

Work vehicles are used, and you require a full manual driving licence covering you for up to 3.5 tonne vans.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
