Drainage Engineer

Role Responsibility

An exciting vacancy has arisen to work as a key part of the Drainage Asset Management Team.

As a Drainage Engineer you will be providing a front-line service delivering planned drainage repairs, renewals and improvements across the County including all associated financial and administrative tasks to ensure planned work is delivered effectively to improve the asset and highway safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual and it is important that you have excellent people, communication and customer service skills.

The nature of the service means that peaks in demand are common and during periods of heavy rain you will be required to work effectively under pressure and as a team player. You will be expected to work closely with other highway colleagues and within the GET directorate including the Flood and Water Management Team.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
