Digital Designer

Are you an experienced digital designer with exceptional attention to detail?

Do you want to make a difference as part of a forward-thinking team creating high-quality websites for the residents of Kent?

We are MRX, the Marketing and Resident Experience team at Kent County Council, and we’re looking for someone who understands responsive, user-centric UI design and has the creative problem-solving skills needed to help us take the main KCC site and our other sites to the next level.

Working closely within our dedicated team of in-house designers, developers and content creators, you will take on a wide variety of tasks and projects, helping to create outstanding digital experiences.

This is an exciting time to join our team, and this key role offers a great opportunity for you to make your mark.

You will be responsible for:

• creating UI designs that meet accessibility standards and follow best practice for usability

• designing graphics, art working images, and producing web-optimised assets

• building and testing front-end elements for our websites, including kent.gov.uk.

You love:

You have:

• a strong portfolio that showcases user-centric UI design

• a relevant design qualification or equivalent relevant experience

• excellent UX, UI, and web design skills

• expert Adobe Creative Cloud app skills (especially Photoshop and Illustrator). Experience of wire framing software a bonus

• experience of building and testing front end components to a high standard, using modern technologies

• confident coding skills using modern HTML and CSS. JavaScript experience desirable

• experience of analysing user data to improve user journeys.
