Role Responsibility

Maternity Cover 9 months   

Hybrid (remote & Maidstone, Kent)

Are you an enthusiastic digital designer who wants to make a difference and join a team creating high quality website experiences for Kent’s residents?  

Do you have excellent digital design skills including Adobe Creative Cloud apps and especially Photoshop?  

Kent County Council’s Marketing and Residence Experience (MRX) team are looking for an experienced digital designer to help us create visual content for the council’s website kent.go.uk  

As an MRX Digital Designer, you’ll be working across the whole of kent.gov.uk, sometimes collaborating with our wider creative team and sometimes independently. You’ll be working to produce quality design and visual content across a broad range of services, audiences and issues.  

We’re looking for someone who thinks ‘graphic and digital design for websites’ and is comfortable.  

You will be responsible for:  

Proposing graphic design concepts   

Collaborating with other creatives and content creators to generate engaging visuals  

Helping our services translate what they need into impactful design   

About you  

You have an excellent digital design portfolio, especially for websites 

You love to collaborate and work as part of a team  

You know how to present your work and the thinking behind it  

You have excellent Adobe Creative Cloud app skills  

You know how to create responsive, user-centric designs that meet accessibility and good practice standards  

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
