Democratic Services Officer
Role Responsibility
We are looking for someone with administrative experience to join a team that:
Organises and supports all meetings of the council, cabinet, overview and scrutiny committees to ensure they function in accordance with statutory and constitutional requirements
Provides an effective and efficient administrative support service for other meetings, decision making processes and independent appeals.
You must have a sound understanding of local government as you prepare agendas, reports, and minutes, organise meetings, respond to correspondence and assist with the maintenance of work plans. Experience of supporting formal meetings is required for appointment at KR 9
Working as part of a small, friendly team in a challenging and stimulating environment, you will be organised, accurate and able to work under pressure to pre-determined deadlines. You will be confident and tactful in dealing with elected members and senior officers and be able to think logically and plan ahead. You will also have an excellent standard of written English and be competent using Microsoft Office 360, Microsoft Teams and be able to learn new programmes like Modern.Gov.
Please note, This post would ordinarily be based at Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone but currently the team are working from home given the current COVID-19 scenario. There will be an ongoing flexibility on home working.
