Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to join the Dover District within Kent Libraries Registration and Archives.

This is a great opportunity to gain a level 2 qualification in customer service whilst working for a large, diverse, rapidly changing organisation.

The Libraries, Registration & Archives service is diverse and includes-

  • Books and audiobooks, plus DVDs to rent, eBooks and eAudiobooks to download.
  • Access to computers and a wide range of online information resources, such as Theory Test Pro to help pass the Driving Test, job searching and for family or local history research. 
  • Registration of births and deaths in town centre libraries.
  • Marriage ceremonies in our Register Offices.                                                                             

As a library apprentice your work will cover all aspects of work within a library; assisting customers with their enquiries, maintaining the tidiness of the library, organising and promoting events and activities and using ICT systems to book appointments and maintain records. You will be working a range of hours including weekends.

We have 2 vacancies in Deal Library and 1 in Dover library and are looking for someone with the right attitude who is motivated and keen to learn quickly. If this sounds like you, then we would like to encourage you to apply.

Salary starts at £153 per week, with the opportunity to increase based on performance.
