Customer Relations Officer, Kent Adult Education - Thanet

Role Responsibility

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Customer Relations Team within Community, Learning and Skills (CLS) which includes Kent Adult Education and Kent Training and Apprenticeships.

We are looking for a Customer Relations Officer (CRO) to lead the customer relations team across the Thanet district which includes our centres in Margate, Broadstairs and Deal. You will need to visit all three sites regularly although Margate will require most of your time. You'll be ensuring our centres are consistently providing an excellent level of service to our customers, driving income generation and ensuring that the environment and facilities are conducive to safe working and learning. Our Customer Relations team are the beating heart of our organisation and as the CRO, you’ll be vital in keeping your centres operating smoothly and with appropriate staff coverage.

You will have good customer service and administration skills including the ability to collate and manage information. You will also need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with the public, colleagues, and outside organisations. The role is interesting and varied and we need somebody who can work under their own initiative in a busy and demanding environment. You will have some sales experience or able to demonstrate sales skills.

Applicants will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be willing to learn to use our bespoke management information system.  

The post requires a flexible working approach to ensure business needs are met. The working pattern will have variable hours and includes some Saturday and evening hours as required. The ability to travel to other centres in the hub in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is required.

You will possess a Level 3 qualification and have achieved Level 2 or GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
