Customer Relations Assistant

Role Responsibility

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join the Customer Relations Team within Community, Learning and Skills (CLS) which includes Kent Adult Education and Kent Training and Apprenticeships.

You will act as the main point of contact between CLS and our customers, providing information and guidance on our courses and services, enrolling onto courses, managing student data and ensuring a safe learning environment. The role is interesting and varied and we need somebody who can work under their own initiative in a busy and demanding environment.

You will have good customer service and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to collate and manage information. You will also need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with the public, colleagues, and organisations.

You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be willing to learn to use our bespoke management information system.  

The post requires a flexible working approach and this includes working across both Sittingbourne AEC and Sheppey AEC. The working pattern will have variable hours and include Saturday and evening hours as required. The ability to travel to other centres in the hub in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is required.

You will possess Level 2 or GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
