Customer Relations Assistant - Sittingbourne AEC - Term Time Only
Role Responsibility
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to work as an integral part of the Customer Relations Team within Community, Learning and Skills (CLS) which includes Kent Adult Education and Kent Training and Apprenticeships.
You will act as the main point of contact between CLS and our customers, providing information and guidance on our courses and services, enrolling onto courses, managing student data and ensuring a safe learning environment. These interactions will be via telephone, email and face to face. The role is interesting and varied and we need somebody who can work under their own initiative.
You will have good customer service, sales and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to collate and manage information. You will need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with the public, colleagues, and organisations.
Applicants will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be willing to learn to use our bespoke management information system.
The post requires a flexible working approach to ensure business needs are met. The working pattern will have variable hours and include Saturday and evening hours (up to 10pm) as required. The ability to travel to other centres in the hub in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is required.
This role is based primarily at Sittingbourne Adult Education centre but also requires the job holder to work at Sheerness Adult Education centre on one or two days per week.
The role is customer facing but, as we recover from Covid-19 disruption, much of the customer contact will be via telephone and email.
You will possess Level 2 or GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
