Creative Services Buyer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

Buying creative services that matter

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Creative Services Buyer to join our in-house communications team.

Our communications matter. They help better inform Kent residents of what the council does. Being a buyer for KCC is about helping to make communications that have impact and that help make a real difference. You will be responsible for helping us procure great creative work and see it through to print or publication online.

Working closely with our other creative services buyer, you will respond to multiple creative and print work requests, often at short notice. You should thrive on working to tight deadlines and enjoy working with a range of stakeholders, including creatives, print suppliers and colleagues across the organisation. The role is based in our studio at Sessions House in Maidstone, Kent, but you will need to work from home until COVID restrictions allow a return to offices.

Requirements

  • You understand how to buy value for money design and print services
  • You understand the media landscape from online to offline
  • You can handle jobs big and small
  • You can handle multiple jobs and budgets
  • You love to collaborate, both with team members and with our services and suppliers

You can

  • Work well with a wide range of professionals (we might have mentioned it before)
  • See a spelling mistake at fifty paces
  • Understand how to act as a Brand Guardian
  • Be comfortable working on PC or Mac and have a good working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Bring lots of enthusiasm

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews will be held in late April 2021
