Countryside Partnership Officer - Medway Valley Countryside Partnership

Role Responsibility

Secondment opportunity for someone internally is possible. 

Medway Valley Countryside Partnership (MVCP) are looking for an experienced individual who can run our volunteer action group and deliver a variety of sympathetic habitat management tasks at a variety of sites in the Maidstone, Tonbridge and Malling boroughs. 

This role is part time (2 / 3 days per week to be discussed at interview). 

Tasks are varied and may include tree planting and felling, scrub clearance, coppicing and construction such as woodland step building (for example). 

You must have a can do attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a small team.

You will have  experience in supervising and assisting volunteers and will have practical habitat management experience; ideally holding certificates in chainsaw, brushcutter and other equivilent tools.

This role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence.  You will be confident in driving with the able to drive MVCPs vehicles and take volunteers to the various sites whilst ideally towing a trailer. 

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
