Coroners Office Manager (Contracts & Budget)

The Kent & Medway Coroner Service is moving into a new multi-court and office complex and Kent County Council is expanding the management team as we drive to become a flagship service.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Coroner Service Contract and Budget Manager to manage key contracts and budget expenditure to enable the coroners to fulfil their statutory functions. You will lead the commissioning cycle, to ensure contracts are in place, effectively performance monitored with the necessary governance and budget monitoring and reporting to optimise service delivery within financial limits and in accordance with KCC procurement policies.

The successful candidate will have access to the full range of training and development opportunities to develop the coroner service specific knowledge and understanding to manage the unique and interesting situations that you may not get in other contract and budget manager roles.

The role is full time and based in Maidstone, the service operates Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, by the nature of the role there is a need for office working but some remote working will be supported subject to service need. You will also need to attend training or provide advice and support when required outside of these hours and if required to participate in the duty manager rota.
