Cook - Southfields

Role Responsibility

Southfields Short Breaks Unit provides overnight short breaks for adults who have learning disabilities and/or complex health needs. 

We are seeking a motivated cook to assist in the preparation of nutritious meals for up to a maximum of 14 people at any one time, whilst adhering to individual dietary requirements of the people in residence.

You need to ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen and work in compliance with Health and Safety requirements. You will check that kitchen equipment is fit for purpose and manage stock ordering/replenishment.

A  Level 2 qualification in Food Safety is required. Additional training will be provided and you need to be willing to attend training to fulfil your role. The post consists of working alternate weekends and evening work.

Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with Care’ assessment process.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
