Cook / Chef

Role Responsibility

Blackburn Lodge Registered Care Centre offers permanent, respite and day care for the Older People. We are looking to recruit an experienced Cook/Chef to join our team at Blackburn Lodge for 30 hours per week. A Level 2 qualification in Food Safety is required and additional training will be provided to support you in the role.

Your duties will include

• Managing the kitchen team to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for our residents, considering dietary requirements and residents' needs

• Ensuring a range of options for our residents, ensuring choice at all mealtimes

• Maintaining the highest hygiene standards and ensuring infection control protocols are followed in the kitchen

The successful candidate will

• Have an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate

• Have experience in cooking for large groups and menu planning

• Be fully aware and comply with infection control policies and procedures

• Be able to use information and knowledge obtained from residents as well as dietary questionnaires to plan menus for the care home

• Have an excellent knowledge of food hygiene and food preparation, along with a positive attitude and a desire to deliver the best possible service to the residents in our care.
