Content Designer (Maternity Cover)

Role Responsibility

Our Marketing and Resident Experience (MRX) team is looking for a Content Designer to create and maintain high quality user-centred content across KCC’s websites and other digital channels. This is a temporary full time contract for up to 9 months. You will be required to work from home or other remote location.

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating website content that delivers a well written and consistently great user experience
  • Working with the team and across KCC to develop digital content based on user-research and data analytics as well as service need
  • Creating digital processes that are accessible, simple and easy to use
  • Making sure our web content complies with relevant accessibility regulations and UX principles
  • Working with the Digital Production Manager to identify opportunities to innovate, to do things better and more efficiently, and to improve the user experience.

About you

  • You will have experience of creating accessible, high quality user experiences on websites and will have a good understanding of the principles of content design
  • You’ll be proficient using content management systems with a proven aptitude for learning how to use new technologies (we use the Squiz content management system).
  • You’re not afraid to challenge or to be challenged, you’re curious about how things can be improved and take responsibility for the difference you make through your work
  • You love to collaborate, are highly organised with a keen attention to detail, and have the flexibility to change course when required
  • You work exceptionally well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, focused on shared goals and can work effectively in a remote working environment
