Role Responsibility

Adult Social Care Commissioning has some exciting projects and is seeking some great people to help us deliver them!

Fixed Term until 31/03/2022

We would like to applications for a variety of roles as Commissioners & Commissioning Assistants (Adult Social Care). Working as part of a dynamic team you will be part of an exciting programme of Commissioning activity. We are developing a new workforce to support people to live within their own homes and need Micro-provider Champions to work with providers and individuals who might be able to support people in their own communities PLUS we are creating a Quality Team to support providers to drive up quality in our commissioned provision.

As we recover from the pandemic and learn to live with Covid-19 our providers are facing many challenges. Alongside the transformation being driven by the Making a Difference Everyday programme (MADE), we have exciting opportunities to use the programme to bring new ideas to the fore, shape new responses, transform provision and ensure that we deliver the right range of services to meet the changing needs of the people of Kent. In Adult Social Care Commissioning we spend a £1 million a day / £365 million per year on purchasing services and as Commissioners we need to ensure that this money has the right impact for the people of Kent. The post holders will be at the forefront of making sure we meet the high standards that we set for ourselves.

Our commissioner roles are paid at KR11 (£40,607 -£46,501), and therefore applicants will need to be able demonstrate understanding of commissioning or adult social care. We also have roles at KR7 as Commissioning Assistants (£23,033-£24,554) for those wishing to take their next step in their Commissioning career. Our roles are all locality based so you need to be in or near Kent so you can visit provider sites or meet potential providers. All roles offer some home working. These roles are a great opportunity for people who wish to progress their commissioning skills and careers.

We have temporary or secondments opportunities funded until the end of March 31, 2022, available and a small number of permanent roles.

Interested in having more details, then please email jeanette.young@kent.gov.uk and we can send you further information. Or if you are ready to apply then please get that application filled in! Please also include in your application if you are seeking a permanent, temporary or a secondment (with line manager approval) role.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Applications close on Tuesday 5 October and interviews will take place no later than October 20th.
