Role Responsibility

We are currently looking to recruit Commissioners to join either Children's or Public Health Commissioning teams within the Strategic Commissioning Unit.

This is an exciting short-term opportunity supporting Kent County Council’s commissioning teams. These fixed term posts include both full time and part time opportunities and will run until 31st March 2022.

Ideally the successful candidate should be available to start within 4-6 weeks of an offer being made, subject to the necessary employment checks.

You will need strong commissioning, procurement, financial and project management skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside of the Council. You will also need to work well under pressure as this is a fast-paced role.

The role will be responsible for professional delivery of commissioning activities within the commissioning cycle, monitoring of spending and ensuring it provides value for money and meets the needs of the citizens in Kent.

You will ensure continuous improvement in processes, policies and practice and work closely with your commissioning team.

These posts are subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

These posts are considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews will take place virtually via Microsoft Teams and will include a short test. Other interview formats can be made available upon request.
