The Children’s Commissiong Team are looking for a number of  proactive Commissioners to help design, procure, and manage services that improve lives across Kent.

We are offering an attractive opportunity as a Commissioner in the Children’s Commissioning Team.

We are looking for a motivated individual who embraces new approaches and new ways of working, and can engage with a range of stakeholders  at all levels. The role plays an important part in ensuring that commissioning activities undertaken by the local authority are evidence-based and provide value for money, that meets the needs of the children of Kent.

You will work closely with Senior Commissioners, internal and external partners, children, young adults and their families to ensure key processes are followed and service priorities are met.

Applicants will need strong commissioning skills and experience in successfully managing complex projects and multi-agency working. You should have excellent communication and analytical skills, and be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines. You will be expected to communicate effectively across all four elements of the commissioning cycle, using written, verbal, presentation, and formal reporting skills to engage stakeholders, share insights, and support decision-making. 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

The proposed interview dates are 11th and 12th September 2025. Interviews will take place virtually via Microsoft Teams.
