Commercial Lead

Role Responsibility

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Strategic Commissioning Commercial team as a Commercial/Procurement Lead.

You will be able to evidence extensive commercial and procurement experience along with managing resources and competing priorities.

Together with possessing strong commissioning, procurement, financial and project management skills, you will be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside of the Council. The confirmed post will work predominately with the Growth Environment and Transport (GET) directorate to deliver the work pipeline to support its business objectives. This includes:

• Growth and Communities
• Environment and Waste
• Transportation

You will use their flair and in-depth commercial knowledge to shape and drive the commercial and sourcing strategies delivering lean and efficient commissioning activity including effective end to end procurement. Good experience of the commissioning cycle within a complex, regulated and changing environment is required.

The confirmed post will require you to work closely with the Procurement and Commercial Manager, operational colleagues and stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate your commercial leadership and judgement with good experience of the commissioning cycle within a complex, regulated and changing environment. You will also need to work well under pressure as this is a fast-paced role.

You will ensure continuous improvement in processes, policies and practice and work closely within the Commercial Team.
