Ceremonies Officer

Role Responsibility

Ceremonies Officers lead our front line Ceremonies teams – they make sure the needs of customers are met and the day to day business of the Ceremonies team is delivered to the highest standard. This involves delivering outstanding customer service and demonstrating a high level of technical knowledge. A key responsibility is delivering Legal Preliminaries appointments, as well as also delivering Register Office Marriage and Civil Partnership ceremonies.

If you have good personal judgement, confident reasoning skills and a resilient approach, this could be a role to consider. You also need to be capable of adapting your style of communication to your audience, building excellent relationships with your colleagues and upholding the highest standards of service.

Hours are worked across a range of days, typically three days a week including alternate Saturdays.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
