Business Systems (Social Value) Officer
Role Responsibility
Do you want to play a critical role in delivering on KCC’s commitment to the voluntary and community sector and securing greater social value?
We have an exciting new opportunity within the Council’s Commissioning Standards Team for a Business Systems Officer.
In this role, you will lead in the implementation of a new Digital Social Value Platform which will help ensure the VCS sector have access to the resources they need and further embed Social Value across KCC. This will be crucial to the sector across Kent, especially those organisations severely hit by COVID-19.
As a part of implementing the new system, you will be responsible for promoting it across the Council, training officers in the benefits of utilising it and awareness raising within the voluntary and community sector, working closely with the chosen supplier of the new platform. You will also need to ensure the platform is implemented in line with KCC’s strategic priorities and evolving Social Value policy.
You will need to be skilled in the use of relevant project management tools and techniques, be able to demonstrate that you have excellent communication skills and an ability to work across a range of stakeholders, with a can-do attitude.
You will need to have the ability to prioritise competing demands and objectives, coupled with skills in diplomacy, influence and negotiation, an ability to challenge ways of working and a working knowledge of all stages across the project cycle.
The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of the Council’s approach to commissioning, with an awareness of national and corporate policies and legislation which relate to commissioning especially that of Social Value.
This post will initially be one-year fixed-term but with the possibility for extension. Interviews are expected to take place in the w/c 14th June 2021.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
