Business Support Officer

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and organised Business Support Officer within the Kent Adoption Service. The successful candidate will oversee and co-ordinate the provision of an administrative and business support service to assist in the smooth management of the service through supervision of a team of support staff, together with assisting the Service Managers. 

The role requires someone with excellent organisation and communication skills. You must be able to proactively manage your workload whilst responding to urgent requests and deadlines.  You will have strong administrative, minuting and IT skills and the ability to collate and manage data. Experience of line management would be welcome. You will also need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with professionals and organisations, acting as a contact point for the Service, coordinating a range of meetings and monitoring performance. The work is varied and demanding, and we need someone with a calm and organised approach who can make a positive contribution to the success of the team.

Applicants will have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and be able to demonstrate good communication skills whilst working under pressured timeframes. The successful candidate will have the ability to work under their own initiative in a demanding environment.

The role is based at Oakwood House in Maidstone.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
