Business Support Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

We are looking for a part time Business Support Officer to join the Adolescent Support Team covering the South and East. It is a demanding and challenging role and you will need a calm and organised approach, alongside excellent communication skills.

You will be working as part of the Business Support Service Adolescent team in a fast-paced environment, providing invaluable professional support to Social Work staff in the district. You will liaise with families, professionals and colleagues with responsibilities including arranging and minuting meetings, tracking timescales, acting as the first point of contact for queries and updating our electronic children’s service case management systems.

You will be a skilled, motivated administrator, proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook and posses excellent organisational skills both in managing your own time whilst supporting others to meet deadlines and performance targets.

The work is varied - you will be expected to deal with a wide range of issues and work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing duties as required throughout the team. The ability to produce accurate minutes which are of a highly sensitive nature and experience of finance and processing payments would be valuable in the role.

One post is available across the South and East of Kent with options for the successful candidates to work in either Ashford or Thanet. Whilst there will be a need for office working and travel to support the various meetings and functions of the team, we can offer a flexible mix of office base and home working arrangements for these roles. You will be provided with a laptop and home working equipment to facilitate this flexible approach.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
