Business Support Officer

Role Responsibility

We are looking for a Business Support Officer to join the Gravesham Children's Social Work Team.  This is a demanding and challenging role, and you will need a calm and organised approach, alongside excellent communication skills.

You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, providing invaluable professional support to social work staff in the district.  You will liaise with families, professionals and colleagues with responsibilities including arranging and minuting meetings, tracking timescales, acting as the first point of contact for phone queries and completing tasks on our children's service system.  You will be a skilled, motivated administrator, with strong, proven administrative experience, proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook, and in organising your own time and supporting others to meet deadlines and performance targets.

The work is varied - you will be expected to deal with a wide range of issues and be flexible about sharing duties as required throughout the team.  You will have the ability to produce high quality and comprehensive minutes which are of a highly sensitive nature.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
