Business Support Officer

Role Responsibility

We are looking for a skilled and motivated administrator, to join our Public Protection Business Support Team, proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams.

You will share responsibility with Business Support colleagues working as part of a team providing professional support to a range of diverse services including Business Development, Kent Scientific Services and Trading Standards.

The work is varied and good keyboard skills are required, along with the ability to demonstrate a confident telephone manner and possess a high standard of verbal and written communication, as you will provide support for team mailboxes and telephones, acting as point of contact for enquiries.

You will have an eye for detail, produce accurate work and be responsible for processing legal and regulated administrative functions.  You should be able to organise your own time and support others doing the same. 

You may initially be working from home, due to COVID-19 restrictions using IT equipment provided, but there will be a mixture of office/home working subject to business needs and demands.  You may be required to travel across the county at different times to attend and assist at meetings and events.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
