Role Responsibility

Business Support Officer - (Assistant Directors Office)

We are seeking a motivated, autonomous and highly skilled Business Support officer with strong secretarial skills and the ability to work as part of team, prioritise their workload and use their own initiative.  The role will encompass robust diary management, forward planning of meetings, the management of all associated administration and implementation of efficient processes and procedures to improve the level of service provided to the Assistant Director and other stakeholders. You will set up meetings and produce/collate relevant information and documentation to support planning of service delivery.  You will be responsible for tracking, monitoring and following up on information enquiries to meet timescales and enable a reliable and high quality service.  You will lead on accurately updating, modifying and retrieving data from systems, professionals and organisations.

You will also be supporting the Assistant Director’s Senior Business Support Officer as and when required, so an adaptable approach to your workload and flexibility to work with changing demands is essential. You will demonstrate excellent communication and telephone skills with the ability to support the provision of a high quality service to the Director, staff and managers.


Key skills required are:

- Good keyboard and minute taking skills.

- Computer literate in MS Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

- Excellent communication and telephone skills.

- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills when dealing with all levels of staff, elected members, MPs and external contacts in a confidential manner.
