Business Support Officer for Principal Social Worker Team (Children's)

Role Responsibility

If you do, this is an exciting opportunity to join and support the Principal Social Worker (PSW) Team within Children’s Services. 

 

The PSW team are instrumental in ensuring there is Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Professionals Standards within the children’s workforce across the County. This is to ensure Children’s Services remain responsive and adaptable to protect, support and promote the welfare of children and young people. The PSW team engage with practitioners and consider children and families views to inform the development and delivery of high-quality integrated children’s practice and embed the Kent Practice Framework. They work closely with Kent Safeguarding Children Multi-agency Partnership (KSCMP) to ensure the effective delivery of services which safeguard children.

 

Your role will be critical in supporting the PSW team to deliver an effective service and Business Plan by:

  • Managing tracking systems for Safeguarding Alerts and Safeguarding Reviews and Reports
  • Providing data and statistics on demand from trackers and PowerBi
  • Ensuring reports are filed, noting actions and recommendations and following up on their completion
  • Managing the Safeguarding emails, resolving queries independently where possible
  • Supporting the PSW team with the creation of presentations and formatting of reports
  • Event management for the PSW drop-in sessions and Service Manager Practice and Improvement meetings
  • Providing administrative support for investigations/enquiries for the PSW 
  • Managing and updating the PSW team SharePoint information pages
  • Monitoring safeguarding alerts via Liberi
  • The tracking and monitoring of DHR and SAR work, led by the relevant Safeguarding Service Managers
  • Contributing ideas towards improving systems

 

The work is varied - you will be expected to deal with a wide range of issues and work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing duties as required throughout the team.

 

To be eligible for the post you will need to possess the following skills/experience:

  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Highly motivated, excellent organisational, administration and communication skills and an eye for detail
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to achieve deadlines
  • Have an excellent knowledge of IT systems; Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues
  • Commitment to equalities, inclusion and diversity in all aspects of working

 

Kent County Council is committed to a hybrid working model with a flexible working offer, please note regular attendance to work from our Maidstone office will be required.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
