Business Support Officer - Partnership and Participation

Role Responsibility

Family Hubs are part of Kent County Council’s offer to support to children and young people, aged 0-19 (25 SEND), and their families.

Family Hubs are a place where the whole family can access advice, support and guidance.

Our local Family Hubs offer a broad and integrated range of early help services for families, which include midwifery, health visiting, parenting support and activities for children and young people.

We have 56 Family Hubs across Kent, where we operate alongside our partners to support local communities.

Do you have a passion for helping people? Do you enjoy working in fast paced roles? Are you organised and able to prioritise and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously? If so, we are looking for a Business Support Officer to support the Partnership & Participation Manager

The role is full time 37hrs a week Monday to Friday and will be based at Invicta House Maidstone, there will be also be some home working.

You will work closely with the Partnership & Participation Manager and the Partnership & Participation officer and will be responsible for planning and coordinating meetings, diary management, minuting, booking venues and monitoring and supporting financial processes.  

This is a varied and challenging post and requires someone with excellent organisation and communication skills and previous administrative experience. You must be able to proactively manage your workload and support the wider team, whilst responding to urgent requests and deadlines.

You will be confident in liaising with  colleagues, and professionals within a multi-agency environment.

You will possess excellent IT skills and have the ability to meet deadlines and to maintain and process accurate and timely records. 

The role is varied and interesting and we can offer opportunities for personal training and development within the service.

About You

  • A confident telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills
  • A flexible attitude to working across a wide geographical area
  • An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
  • Experience of customer service and previous administrative background
  • The ability to prioritise a busy workload

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
