Business Support Officer - Childrens Services

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Business Support Officer to support the Assistant Director and members of the Senior Management team within Children’s Services, supporting 0–19-year-olds across Kent. This role will work alongside other Business Support personnel supporting a number of ADs and Directors.

The day-to-day job is very varied, and includes diary and email management, minuting of meetings, financial processing, external room bookings/ hire, department event management, recruitment admin, and supporting HR issues/ investigations on behalf of the AD.

Applicants will have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, demonstrate high standards of confidence, professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts, and possess a high level of organisational skills with the ability to prioritise their workload to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.

The Business Support Officer will be working from home, with an element of office working from Invicta House, Maidstone and occasional trips to other sites around Kent.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
