Join our Business Services Team at Kent Scientific Services
Are you a self-starter with customer service experience, strong organisational skills and confidence with financial processes? This is a great opportunity to broaden your office-based experience while playing a vital role in a busy, industry leading scientific service.
Based at a laboratory site in Kings Hill, this full-time, office-based role sits within Innovation & Business Intelligence which is part of the Growth & Communities division. You’ll gain a fascinating insight into the business-critical support that underpins the Kent Scientific Services.
What you’ll do:
You’ll act as a central point of control for time critical sample receipt and processing, while also supporting a wide range of business operations, including:
- Front desk and first-point customer contact (phone and email)
- Coordinating national, multi-site courier movements
- Registering samples to strict contractual deadlines
- Financial administration: raising orders, processing invoices and taking card payments
- Supporting facilities, security and health & safety arrangements
- Managing complaints, weather alerts and Freedom of Information requests
- Assisting with recruitment, events, meetings and note-taking
What we’re looking for:
You’ll work closely with operational teams, commercial partners and internal and external stakeholders, so you’ll need:
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence with manual handling tasks and occasional test purchasing
- Flexibility and the ability to travel across the county when required
If you’re looking for a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same and where your contribution really matters, we’d love to hear from you.
Interviews to be held at Kings Hill on 13th and 14th May.
