Business Administration Apprentice

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen in Kent County Council’s Highways, Transportation & Waste department to work as a Business Administration Apprentice. 

This apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to earn a real salary and obtain a real qualification, whilst gaining valuable skills and experience working in an office environment as well as acquire an understanding of highways operations.

We will support the successful candidate, over a 18 month placement period, to achieve a Business Administration Level 3 (Advanced) qualification to enable you to develop administration skills, customer-handling skills, oral communication skills and IT skills. 

This post is based at the Kent County Councils’ highway office on the Aylesford Industrial Estate, at our Aylesford Highway Depot on St. Michaels Close, with options for flexible remote working.

You will be part of a part of busy office-based admin team and will undertake a range of day to day clerical and administrative duties. It is a fast-paced role and the apprentice will be required to liaise with other work colleagues about service delivery on a daily basis.

This role will require you to have good customer service skills, attention to detail and an ability to use computers.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

The Apprentice salary starts at £173.91 per week, with the opportunity to increase based on performance.
