Business Admin and IT Apprentice (Business Systems Team)
Role Responsibility
An opportunity has arisen in Kent County Council’s Highways and Transportation department to work as a Business Administration and IT Apprentice.
This apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to earn a real salary and obtain a real qualification, whilst gaining valuable skills and experience working in an office environment as well as acquire an understanding of highways operations.
We will support the successful candidate, over a 18 month placement period, to achieve a Business Administration Level 3 (Advanced) qualification to enable you to develop administration skills, customer-handling skills, oral communication skills and IT skills.
This post is based at the Kent County Councils’ highway office at Invicta House, County Road, Maidstone, with options for flexible remote working. The apprentice would also be required to work in other KCC offices and support will be provided for travel.
You will be part of a part of busy IT and admin team and will undertake a range of day-today IT, clerical and administrative duties. It is a fast-paced role and the you will be required to liaise with other work colleagues about service delivery on a daily basis.
This role will require you to have a good level of computer IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office, be well organised and efficient, and have an attention to detail.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
The Apprentice Salary starts at £192.40 per week, with the opportunity to increase based on performance
