Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Role Responsibility

Are you a motivated Behaviour Analyst with a good range of experience in the arena of Children and Young People? Are you looking for a new challenge and wanting to develop or build on your skill set through working with neurodiversity and trauma?  This role would best suit practitioners who are currently an experienced professional in their field of practice looking to extend their skill set and enjoy a new challenge.

Purpose of Programme

PBS – Intensive Home Support programme is an exciting new venture and collaboration between Kent and Medway County Councils and the Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group, the integrated care system.  The Kent and Medway Integrated Care System is  passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing for children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisations and through our partnerships to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on children and young people’s wellbeing and recovery.

The ambition for the Intensive Home Support programme  is to provide Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) assessment and intervention for complex neurodiverse young people with and without a mental health concern. Through the use of collaborative partnership working the aims for the programme are to support complex neurodiverse  young people who are experiencing challenges in their behaviours, resulting in significant harm to self, property, or others. In bringing a sensory and behavioural lens to better understand our neurodiverse complex young people and their families, the programme aims to create a difference to their lives. Through collaboration the programme will advise professional networks on how to adapt standardised care packages to deliver neurodiverse personalised; building the foundations for avoidance of residential care, school, hospital placements and associated spend.

The role will be hosted by Kent County Council and deliver across Kent and Medway councils and Clinical Commissioning Group.

Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group in partnership with Kent and Medway County Councils have previously  appointed Behaviour Analyst`s to work in various provider departments and are now looking to build on their availability of behaviour analysis, through employing a further Behaviour Analyst; to support the mobilisation and development of the Neuro Intensive Home Support Programme.

The Neuro Intensive Home Support Programme is an opportunity to work systemically with Children, Young People, and their families, supporting community health, education, and social care teams to co-ordinate their service response to deliver non neurotypical interventions. Reducing the risk of admission to specialist mental health hospitals or secure placements and preventing further escalation of risk for those young people experiencing complex behaviour that challenges.

The role is expected to be part of a partnership that will design the stepped programme and develop the referral pathway. The role will be supported through the Kent and Medway Integrated BCBA community of practice.

This is a full-time post though role share will be considered.
