Assistant Manager/Social Work Practitioner

Role Responsibility

This is a unique opportunity for a highly experienced qualified social work practitioner to join Kent Shared Lives as the Assistant Manager and social work lead supporting the Registered Manager in day-to-day operational and clinical management of the Service.

You will lead on the development of close, joint, integrated working with social work teams, partner organisations and other parties and participate, and lead when required, in in multi-disciplinary meetings to support individuals with complex needs.

Supervising Shared Lives Officers this role will ensure reviews, including annual reviews, of individuals care and support plans are appropriate and continue to meet their assessed eligible needs. Liaising with assigned Social Worker if changes are required and take the lead on safeguarding enquires as they arise.

Work closely under the supervision of the Registered Manager providing cover for the Registered Manager during absences and attend meetings etc. as delegated by the Registered Manager. This role will also contribute to the development of new initiatives through attendance at working groups, multi-agency forums, training courses etc. to develop current and new ways of working that meet service requirements, offer positive peer challenge and professional support to develop practice and upskill the Shared Lives workforce.

This position requires a degree in social work with up-to-date registration with professional body and be competent to work at the Experienced Practitioner level of the Social Care Capabilities Framework for Registered Workers.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
