Assistant Kent Film Officer

Role Responsibility

Fixed Term for 2 years 

(Part Time would also be considered, can be negotiated at interview) 

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join a busy and fast paced team. The role is principally the day to day responding and tracking of permit requests and customer enquiries. This requires continual filing and monitoring with meticulous accuracy and attention to detail as well as the ability to work at speed to tight deadlines, constantly managing multiple and varying priorities.

You will need strong skills in partnership working in order to develop ongoing relationships with a range of agencies including district councils, Police and highways to ensure filming is lawful and considerate of Kent’s residents and businesses.

Excellent customer service skills are essential as the role involves liaison with film companies and often requires creative thinking to find imaginative solutions to meet their requirements.

Communication, computer and literacy skills are also vital to the role as the Kent Film Office Assistant will assist with generating content for a variety of platforms.

You will have a good understanding of film and television production, especially relating to location work.

The Kent County Council Film Office was founded in 2006 to promote the county as a prime location for film and television productions. The Kent Film Office strives to provide a seamless service to visiting and local productions from their first contact right through to the completion of the project.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
