Asset Project Manager

Role Responsibility

There is an opportunity within the Traffic Operations and Technology Team for an Asset Project Manager. This role will be a full-time position on a 37 hours per week contract (Monday to Friday). Candidates may be able to utilise hybrid working, including an element of working from home. The office base will be Aylesford Highway Depot, St Michaels Close, Aylesford ME20 7BU, although other depots can be used.

You will be working in a small team that design, manage and operate traffic systems assets across the county and deal with a variety of stakeholder organisations. This team is also responsible for the Traffic Operations Centre used to monitor and manage traffic on the highway network using CCTV and traffic control systems. You will need to show you are capable of embracing new and existing technologies with an interest in how the systems can be used to keep Kent moving.

As the Asset Project Manager you will be working under the supervision of the Senior Asset Maintenance Engineer to design, procure and supervise the delivery of planned traffic signals modifications and refurbishments on the highway network. The candidate will be expected to deal with customer enquiries, contractors and produce design packs/documentation so good communication/presentation skills are key. The role will involve site visits so it is essential that the candidate can travel across Kent in a safe, timely and flexible manner. This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
